Iwan Sunito - From Borneo to Bloomberg

Iwan Sunito? Who is this guy? Really, it was about last month that I heard of his name hitting this social media world.

So i google and found out that he’s an Indonesian born (Surabaya to be exact) and now is one of the successful business men in Australia.

Oh No!  Having worked in an Australian company for more than 4 years I never heard anything of this name?

So, an Indonesian and success abroad means there is something about him. Something spectacular, I believe.

Then, I found out that he has just released his motivational book (From Borneo to Bloomberg) under Indonesia’s biggest publisher – Gramedia which cost around Rp 85000 – Rp 100000. Reasonable price for such a book.

This book with quite enough story of Iwan Sunito and more of motivational quotes that he has believed what makes him as he is right now plus another quotes that he creates by himself.

I read this book where I am in need of motivation, where I am in search of myself. By the time I finished reading this book, I started to think and act. Thank you for such an inspiring quotes, anyway.

I was once thinking if quotes do make us success and this Iwan Sunito has shown me that indeed, it is something that giving the spirit , that is also encourage us to never stop to learn , and at the end, we can make our own quotes that can also inspire others.

A Surabaya born who then moved to Pangkalan Bun – Central Kalimantan (which is also known as Borneo). Having lived there for almost 12 years with his parents and a brother where the house was on the water.

His father sent him to Sydney when he was 18 years to continue his study.  He, back then was an underperformer but with the struggles, he turned to be someone. By 1991, he graduated with an Honours Degree and was awarded the Eric Daniels Prize for Residential Design.

He then tooked the UNSW Master of Construction Management Degree, completed in 1992.

He once worked in an architecture firm before establishing his own firm in 1994 , partnering with Paul Sathio and Anthony Sun.

Starting with a gross realization of $ 28 million and now has reached to $ 3.5 billion. What a fantastic figure, specially for a company built within 20 years.

Under the Crown Group, he has now built several exclusive residential area and luxury apartments around Sydney. The company itself has become the leading in real estate industry in Australia.
